LEAD Colloquium Student Learning Outcomes • Understand, articulate, and demonstrate alignment with career readiness competencies necessary to excel inthe workforce. • Demonstrate professional growth and self-awareness. • Design personalized and specific actions, as well as overarching frameworks, required to successfully launchone's career. • Identify and utilize skills, talents, and strategies that can be used for their respective academic and professional goals. Semester Student Experience Framework Career Readiness Modules • Professional Identity: All students will take a Strengths assessment and learn to utilize it at their internshipsite, networking opportunities and for career planning. • Workplace Dynamics: Focus on understanding and navigating the workplace environment, drawing upon the students' professional bios, and their strengths. • Career Launch: Introduce the concept of personal branding and how students can develop their own utilizing their strengths. Weekly Challenges Tasks to enhance learning and engage in hands-on tasks or conversations, used for LEAD class discussions. Professional Track/Career Exploration Days • Day 1 Focus: Module 1 ends on a networking skills sessions, which students will utilize at various networking events developed by TWC and community partners. • Day 2 Focus: With an understanding of strengths and workplace dynamics, students will attend various activities or simulations throughout DC that allow them to address complexities in specific thematic areas. Each event will have at least one industry expert to guide the session. Simpson-Mineta Leaders Series This series aims to cultivate a spirit of civil discourse where we come together to discuss polarizing topics with distinguished guest to gain a better and more holistic understanding of what's happening in the world Extended Learning Opportunities Optional learning sessions throughout the semester, led by AIP staff and external speaks to supplement and customize the career readiness experience for students.
