Earning academic credit through e Washington Center We're so excited to learn about your interest in the Academic Internship Program (AIP) at The Washington Center (TWC). All students who enroll in AIP from institutions that are not affiliated with TWC will receive credit through TWC's school of record, Elon University. A form will be emailed to you and must be completed and returned to TWC in order to facilitate this process. Here you'll find additional details and other helpful pointers regarding the credit you'll earn with us! twc.edu Academic Credit If you participate during a fall or spring semester, you'll earn 15 credits; during a summer, you'll earn 9 credits. as broken down below. Internship credits are interdisciplinary and your academic course credit will be department-specific. Information for students whose home institution does not partner with TWC Planning with your Home Institution Before you apply to TWC, we recommend you speak to the following people on your campus to make sure your experience here will comply with your institution's requirements and keep you on track to graduate. Financial Aid: check in with your financial aid office to see whether your aid eligibility will change, whether you can use your aid to cover the cost of TWC and whether any cost-of-living adjustments are available. Academic Advisor: speak to your advisor to understand how the credit you earn during your time with TWC may apply at your home institution. You should also check with your advisor to see if there is any process you are required to follow to spend a semester away from campus. Study Away: you may need to register with Study Away to prepare for a semester away from campus. They may also be able to assist with transferring credits or questions about financial aid. Additionally, they may have additional suggestions for funding your experience. Transcripts At the end of the semester, TWC's partner institution (Elon University) will send a transcript with your grades to your home institution. If you'd like additional copies of your transcript, you can request them from Elon University directly, for a fee.
