Internships in Washington, D.C. for Political Science Students At The Washington Center (TWC), our goal is simple: we aim to provide the connections, tools and insights you need to launch a career you'll love. Whether you take part in our internship program in Washington, D.C. or join us online, we'll connect you with the best opportunities in the political world for a one-of-a-kind experience. www.twc.edu Internship Politics is all about being in the room where it happens. We've got connections in the nation's capital, across the country, and on both sides of the aisle to put you where you can make an impact. From the offices of elected officials, to advocacy organizations, to lobbying firms, to private sector consulting firms, there's no limit to what you could do. Some of our popular internship sites for political science and government students include The U.S. House of Representatives, Federal Trade Commission, Lawyers Without Borders, The Potomac Advocates, LobbyIt and the House Parliamentarian Office. Career Readiness Programming TWC's Career Readiness Programming is a mix of professional development workshops, networking events, one-on-one advising and more designed to help you maximize your internship experience. In the past, our students have gone to networking events with the biggest movers and shakers in politics, taken tours behind the scenes at the U.S. Capitol, attended panels and lectures designed to help them find a career path and met some of the brightest young minds in politics: each other! Academic Course During your summer or semester with TWC, you'll take an academic course one night each week. Our courses are typically taught by professors who are also working professionals in their field. For example, this past semester, our roster of professors included a senior analyst at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the CEO of the American Association of Exporters and Importers, and an attorney in the Office of General Counsel at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.
