Once you arrive at TWC, you'll be housed in a shared apartment in one of our residential facilities which are all located in the NoMa neighborhood near Capitol Hill and Union Station. Support is always available through TWC's Housing and Community Life office and live-in Alumni Mentors. You'll also have the opportunity to meet fellow interns through optional activities such as neighborhood tours, D.C. scavenger hunts and other special events. Life in Washington D.C. Living in Washington, D.C. opens the door for you to maximize your time in the United States. At TWC, you'll find a global community of students from all over the country and the world. You'll also find prime opportunities to network with professionals in your field, whether it be at your internship, TWC programming or outside events. D.C. is also a transportation hub for much of the eastern United States, meaning you can easily explore other U.S. cities on the weekend! Frequently Asked Questions Am I eligible for the program as a non-U.S. citizen? Yes! We welcome all students to apply regardless of citizenship status. Are my internship options limited as a non-citizen? TWC partners with hundreds of internship sites across the D.C. area. Most federal or government internships do not accept applications from non-U.S. citizens, however we partner with many nonprofits, think tanks, and private organizations that accept applications from all students. Am I eligible for scholarships? Non-U.S. citizens are eligible for many of TWC's private scholarships! We also encourage you to check with your financial aid office or academic department to identify scholarships available at your university.
