Cancellation of Housing Contract Participants may cancel their reservation but may be subject to fees listed below. After you have completed your application for housing and submitted the Community Profile and paid your housing security deposit: • If you cancel prior to or on the last day to withdraw from housing, you will forfeit your housing security deposit. • If you cancel after the last date to withdraw from housing, you will forfeit your housing security deposit and will be responsible for 50% of the costs shown here. • If you choose to withdraw or are removed from TWC housing due to a conduct violation or other behavioral issue including removal from internship, you will remain responsible for 100% of the housing fee. • Scholarships or financial support from TWC will not be applied in the instance of withdrawal or removal. This includes state scholarships, private scholarships and TWC scholarships. • No housing refunds will be issued after check-in. • All dates and deadlines related to Housing Reservation Contract cancellation and deadlines to withdraw from housing are published on TWC's Academic Calendar. The last day to withdraw from housing is also the last day to switch to commuter status. Requests to cancel a housing reservation must be received in writing to info@twc.edu by stated deadlines. • Short-term programs and academic seminars are subject to the short-term program policies; you are required to remit a security deposit at the time the Community Profile is submitted, even if no other fees are owed to TWC. The housing security deposit is not refundable should you withdraw from the program at any time. Cancellations must be made in writing to info@twc.edu. Students that check- in/participate in their program will have their housing security deposit refunded, less any applicable damages/lost items, within 45 days of your check-out date. Submission of the Community Profile, including the housing security deposit, constitutes agreement to the terms and conditions of the Housing Reservation Contract and the TWC Code of Conduct and Community Life Expectations. Receipt of the Community Profile and housing security deposit guarantees one bed space in housing provided by The Washington Center, if submitted within the appropriate term or program deadline. If there are extenuating circumstances that prevent you from paying the housing security deposit, please contact your TWC advisor or TWC Housing and Community Life as soon as possible.
