The Washington Center • Cybersecurity Accelerator Program | Program Schedule Speaker Bios Listed in alphabetical order Alicia Backous Partner, Defense & Security, Guidehouse Federal Alicia Backous is a Partner at Guidehouse, specializing in all matters related to technology solutions and operational effectiveness for government and nonprofit programs. In her current position, Ms. Backous has led projects with the Department of Homeland Security that focus on areas including cybersecurity, strategic planning, operational effectiveness, and information technology. She is proud to be part of Guidehouse, which has grown to its current status at the top of the management and technology consulting world with more than 16,500 professionals in over 55 locations globally. In addition to her time with Guidehouse, Ms. Backous has a great deal of experience in consulting and political finance; prior to holding a directorship with PricewaterhouseCoopers for nearly a decade, she worked as finance director for a U.S. Senate candidacy and for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. A Certified Project Management Professional and Certified Change Management Professional, Ms. Backous holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Michigan as well as a Master of Business Administration from Boston College. Alicia Williams External DEI Programs Coordinator, ISC2 Alicia Williams resides in Easton, Pennsylvania. She is a highly motivated individual who is passionate about promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Alicia received her associate degree in communication studies from Northampton Community College and then went on to obtain her Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Public Relations from Kutztown University. After completing her education, Alicia began her professional career in the field of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). In her current role as External DEI Programs Coordinator at ISC(2), Alicia is responsible for partnering/promoting the 1MCC initiative, which aims to create a more inclusive and equitable cybersecurity field. Her expertise in communication and DEI has helped her make a positive impact in her field, and she continues to strive for social justice and equality.
