twc.edu Kemba Walden President, Paladin Global Institute Kemba Walden is an American lawyer who serves as the President of the Paladin Global Institute. Walden comes to Paladin after serving as the acting United States National Cyber Director in 2023. She joined the Office of the National Cyber Director as its inaugural principal deputy in June 2022. While at the White House, she substantially contributed to the development of and launched the National Cybersecurity Strategy (March 2023) and the corresponding Implementation Plan (June 2023). Walden also executed the joint OMB/ONCD Spring Guidance to Federal Departments and Agencies on cyber priorities as they develop their fiscal year 2025 budgets (June 2023). She had a substantial role in developing the National Cybersecurity Workforce and Education Strategy, ultimately executing it in July 2023. In addition, Walden lead the U.S. Government in U.S.- Cyber Dialogues with Singapore and Ukraine and was the head of the U.S. Delegation in several international cyber fora and the OAS Cybersecurity Summit. Walden was previously an Assistant General Counsel in the digital crimes unit at Microsoft where she launched and lead Microsoft's counter ransomware program. Prior to Microsoft, Walden spent a decade in government service at the United States Department of Homeland Security.She earned a B.A. from Hampton University, a Master's in Public Affairs from Princeton University, and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. The Hon. Aldona Woś, M.D. Former Ambassador, President of The Institute of World Politics Ambassador Aldona Woś is a physician, diplomat, and public servant with a distinguished record in U.S. and international leadership. Born in Warsaw, Poland to parents who survived Nazi persecution, she served as U.S. Ambassador to Estonia from 2004 to 2006, where she focused on youth engagement, Russian integration, and public health. She has been honored by Estonia, Poland, and the United States for her service and diplomacy. Ambassador Woś later served as North Carolina's Secretary of Health and Human Services, overseeing a $20 billion budget and 18,000 employees. She has held numerous presidential appointments, including to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council and the President's Commission on White House Fellowships. She currently leads The Institute of World Politics and serves on several national boards related to diplomacy and public service. Trained as a physician in Poland and New York, her medical career has included clinical practice, teaching, and consulting. She holds honorary doctorates from The Institute of World Politics and Greensboro College. Juan Zarate Global Co-Managing Partner and Chief Strategy Officer, K2 Integrity Juan Zarate is a leading expert on counterterrorism, financial security, and national security strategy. He currently serves as global co-managing partner and chief strategy officer at K2 Integrity and is co-founder and board chair of the fintech firm Consilient. A former Deputy National Security Advisor to President George W. Bush, Zarate played a key role in shaping post-9/11 U.S. counterterrorism strategy and was the first Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes. He has advised major institutions including Coinbase, HSBC, and the Vatican, and serves on multiple national security and corporate boards. A published author and frequent media analyst, Zarate is also a senior fellow at West Point's Combating Terrorism Center and the Center for Strategic and International Studies. He holds degrees from Harvard College and Harvard Law School and is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
