Nine states and two U.S. territories
currently partner with TWC by funding
millions of dollars in scholarships
for their residents. These initiatives
help ensure the D.C. experience is
available to any student who meets
certain school or residence eligibility
requirements, enabling access to the
professional world for all segments of
the student population.

2018 Annual Report 13
Each year, dozens of TWC
interns work in offices on
Capitol Hill.
As a first-generation college student,
this experience gave me the confidence I
needed to navigate college and to believe
in myself. From the lows I experienced
of losing my scholarship and dropping
out of college, to becoming a college
graduate, Florida student of the year,
national scholarship recipient, and
now a master's degree candidate, the
confidence that e Washington
Center instilled in me really is priceless.
