Networking for Introverts & Extroverts If the idea of networking in a large group of people seems intimidating, exhausting, or impossible, you may identify as an introvert. You do NOT need to be an extrovert to be good at networking. Here are some different strengths between introverts and extroverts: 3/7 Strengths of an Introvert: • Reflective – think before they talk • Focused – they go beneath the surface • Self-reliant – they energize alone • Persistent, patient • Written communication • Aware of self and others Strengths of an Extrovert: • Verbal – they talk to think • Expansive – they can cover a variety of topics and perspectives • Social – they energize with others • Engaging • Multi-tasking Networking Tips • Excuse yourself to get a drink of water if feeling drained or overwhelmed. • Go to a networking event with a friend that enjoys talking to new people. • Understand when you are ay your best – morning, afternoon, or evening. Go to networking events at those times. • Focus on quality of interactions instead of quantity. You do not need to talk to every person in the room. How to Network like a Professional
