3 The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars Development Day #2 Session Name Description Type Conflict Resolution This session will provide participants with an understanding of various styles and strategies of conflict resolution. Participants will have the opportunity to apply different strategies to a series of case studies while learning best practices for managing conflicts in their own workplaces. Required Critical Thinking This session will offer participants an in-depth exploration of critical thinking. Participants will learn about different types of thinking, developing intellectual courage, building mental agility, and addressing biases through a variety of hands-on activities. Required LinkedIn and Online Branding During this session, participants will examine their own online presence and learn the foundational steps of creating their own brand. Participants will receive specific advice to create a more compelling LinkedIn profile and other techniques for maintaining a professional online brand. Elective Option Mindfulness This session will introduce participants to the practice of mindfulness as a tool for enhancing focus, managing stress, and improving overall well-being in academic and professional settings. Participants will learn practical techniques for cultivating present-moment awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience. Through guided exercises and reflection, students will develop strategies to incorporate mindfulness into their daily routines to support personal and professional growth. Elective Option A.I. in the Workplace As the presence of AI becomes more infused into the workplace and our daily lives, participants in this workshop will learn the limitations and restrictions to AI and techniques to effectively and appropriately utilize AI in their own work.
