Elizabeth Kolb shares with us a special letter she sent her peers regarding her acceptance to The Washington Center's Academic Internship Program this summer.

Elizabeth Kolb, a student at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania, recently received a special holiday surprise in the form of acceptance to TWC’s Academic Internship Program for summer 2023. You can tell the excitement in the update she shared with her student government colleagues below.

Elizabeth is also participating in Inside Washington 2023, January 4-10, to help add to her experiential and immersive learning journey and begin to find her way around Washington, D.C.

This morning, I found a very special letter under my Christmas tree and learned that I’ll be spending my next summer break in Washington D.C.!

Now I already have plans for the summer, and they are extraordinary ones. Washington, D.C. has always held a special place in my heart. The city was once the place I would beg my parents to take me. My number one wish was to visit the Supreme Court so that I could observe an oral argument and see all nine justices in person. It has been the city of my dreams, my hopes and my political aspirations.

I cannot wait for summer break to come so that I can begin to live my dream in D.C. and on Capitol Hill! But in the meanwhile, I'll be attending the Inside Washington Seminar in January so that I can get an early taste of life at TWC and in our nation’s capital!

Thank you for sharing your excitement, Elizabeth. Enjoy Inside Washington and we look forward to seeing you back at our Residential Academic Facility this summer!
