The Margery Magill Memorial Scholarship Fund will aid students who share her passion for international relations, food security and women’s empowerment.
Washington, D.C. — The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC) announced a scholarship fund in memory of Margery Magill at the 2019 Annual Scholarship Dinner, Bridging to the Future. TWC established the fund in consultation with the Magill family to honor her commitment to improving our world. The scholarship will be awarded to students aspiring to careers from majors of significance to her: international relations, agricultural economics or women’s studies.
The Margery Magill Scholarship Fund will ensure that her legacy continues at The Washington Center, spreading her dedication to higher education, as well as the cultural possibilities attainable through immersive learning experiences.Chris Norton, president, The Washington Center
“Margery was a treasured colleague, and a fervent champion and mentor for our students,” said Chris Norton, president, The Washington Center. “We will always remember her warm, generous spirit. The Margery Magill Scholarship Fund will ensure that her legacy continues at The Washington Center, spreading her dedication to higher education, as well as the cultural possibilities attainable through immersive learning experiences.”
Students enrolled in the Academic Internship Program (AIP) will be eligible for grants from the Margery Magill Memorial Scholarship Fund beginning Spring 2020. Selected students will receive scholarship funds based on factors such as major and internship site.
